LibraryThing

I think there are practical applications for LibraryThing especially at work because it allows us to let the customer learn more about a specific book that they are interested in. There is the feature which allows you to build a specific collection of books, which will come in handy if I wanted to know more about what other people say about some new books at the library.

Online Productivity Tools

There is a lot of potential for online tools like those found on Google Docs to one day replace expensive software such as MS Office. The reasons are that accessing the software is free and that it is possible to access the software from any computer that has an internet connection. However, I think the current version of the software does not have as much functionality as packages such as MS Office.

Flickr & YouTube

Both Flickr and YouTube were very user-friendly since you could type in virtually any topic and the site will display all of the pictures (Flickr) or videos (YouTube) related to your topic. It is also very useful that both of the sites allow users to add comments related to the pictures or videos.

RSS

The RSS feed is quite useful as it allows you to find all of the interesting information on one web page. However, there appears to be some RSS feeds that do not allow you to read more about the topic as the feed has already expired. From the feeds that I were able to subscribe to, the Bloglines page is very convenient since it allows you to read topics from several websites by just subscribing to one site.

Google Universe

I really liked Google Earth since it gives you a fairly detailed view of all of the cities in the world. This product is also easy to use. However, even though there are a lot of useful features, some of the features appear to complicate the viewing area.

It is not difficult to find articles that require editing. Most of the errors are factual as the pages indicate facts where citations were missing.There were some parts where the accuracy of the facts were debated by users.

Social networking sites are popular because they are convenient for people to stay in touch with friends and family near and far. The main appeal factors are low costs and instant access because a person's current status can be viewed on a computer with internet access.

I am a little bit more confident at using the best websites feature now. I think the Tags on the right hand side of the page are very useful. The best websites feature allows you to download government forms.

Learnings from CPL 2.0

I would like to learn from the CPL blog about how to manage my own blog and how the Blogger software works. Also, I think the CPL blog will help me learn enough about blogging that I could help customers that would like to start a blog of their own.
